From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team features Teor (played by Travis), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the team access places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Seekers and Schemers tables.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
